Hi Clint,
Funny you should ask, we had that same question pop up on the Empath forum. Check out what people had to say here.
My take on it is:
An Empath is someone who feels other people's emotions. It's an "outside-in" process since the emotional information comes from the outside world into us.
An Intuitive is someone who receive inner guidance either about their lives of the lives of others. That's an "inside-out" process since the intuitive information comes from inside us and goes out to others.
I think I'm both. And, I think over the years I have learned to switch between the two very efficiently. Now, I'm learning to separate them and to listen to each separately.
In the empath program we are doing readings. Can a person do intuitive readings?

Me too.
I have been able to pick up others people's stuff - both physical and emotion and I also often been guided e.g. a book screaming out to me from a shelf - I think that's intuition right?
I don't think that I switch between the two - it's more of which hits me between the eye's first lol lol
This has started to change since starting to learn to manage the volumn
I imagine that is what intuitive counsellers do - use their intuition and probably every other skill they possess to help their clients. I doubt they would limit themselves to just using their Intuition - why not use all information available to us to read - all relevant and helpful information that is and once I get the hang of it lol lol
Yes. Me, too. It has started to change since I'm using the volume. I thought I had no feelings and no voice at all for a few days from turning down the volume. And, now, I have begun to listen more and to be silent. My intuition is speaking, not as often and as confused as the empathy used to be, very solid. I kinda like it.
Hi Elise,
I so agree with this. I am an empath but not an intuitive. I can feel peoples emotions so clearly since childhood. I think all HSP's must be empaths.
