When I am going on long distance rides I get bored so I developed a game sensing all the speed contols on the way and regularily updating them if they are still there. Basically what I do is tuning into the cops and their hunting attitude. I can even tell if it is a camera in a fixed place or if they are moving in a car and approximately how far ahead. Once it was close and driving and then suddenly gone, two min. later I passed the car as they had pulled somebody over. I came to this after I noticed on several occasions at night when I couldn´t see who was behind me I suddenly felt pursued and started to worry about a psychopath following me, and the it was the police passing by. I guess that falls into empathy then?
Maybe it not quite right to say I tune into the cops, it is more like I am sensing potential dangers and then I get the cops, because I also check for other dangers, like accidents that could happen.
And I also used that while living in London, when I would go to Hyde Park at night to feel potentially dangerous spots and avoid them, then I find gay guys having a quicky, drug dealers.
And I always get this very strong warning around Picadilly and Oxford Street about pick pockets, and started playing the game there too. They are extremly hard to detect because they know how to hide their intentions.
Anyone else who knows a game?
It's funny that thing about the cops...I do this too, feeling them, but I've notice that it can be hard to know range. I regularly work with people who are thousands of miles away, so I can get a sense that there is a cop around way before it's actually happening.
I actually soak them with love when I find on in a "hunting" mode. I figure he's less likely to pull me over if he's feeling good and forgiving LOL!
Empathy or intuition though?
I am trying to figure out the difference. Because when I am actively searching around for things I would say I am using my intuition, but then I may have a wrong idea of this word.
And I can turn this on like a warning mode, kind of tell me if there is any danger around, kind of surveilance and then I forget about it, but if there is something I am instantly listening into it.
Lol Ashi
Being an Empath just means that you can feel other people's emotions as you own.
It's just information, really.
If you feel the cop's hunting feeling and you slow down on the highway, you're just making a decision about the Empath information you received.
Intuition is guidance. It can be affected by the information you receive as an Empath but it's all about finding the highest path towards what you want. It's like a compass.
Now both of these do intertwine. And I'm not one to debate semantics :)
If your question is about figure out when you are being intuitive, take a look at this article on intuition. You're WAY more intuitive than you might think, even right now! http://www.eliselebeau.com/whatIsIntuition.php
When I drive I often do this but until I read what you wrote I didn't know that is what I was doing.
My 'game' includes avoiding speed traps but another part of it for me is avoiding traffic. I actually don't consciously do this but on several occasions a few friends and myself left the same place at the same time, heading for the same place and invariably I would arrive at least ten minutes sooner than they did. I would be sitting there wondering what was taking so long and they would get irritated. We'd take the same route but they always said 'where did you go cuz after we left I didn't see you again until we got here'.
I have wondered that too because on a few occasions things have happened on roads and I really couldn't explain them... long - distance trips where I would be somewhere in a period of time that seemed to take much less time or fuel than it should have, getting out of danger spots that shouldn't have been possible, etc. I may drive a thousand miles and not remember whole sections of it which is odd because I truly love driving long distance and seeing the different places.
Another thing I notice in general is that it doesn't seem to matter how full the highway is, I always drive in a pocket of open space. There's always a pocket of space around me - I'm chemically sensitive and avoid driving in traffic at all costs so I need that pocket on the odd occasion that I find myself in heavy traffic, but how that happens, I cannot explain. Those who have rode along with me have noticed that trait as well and find it interesting.
I gear my health status frequently by how those things are going. If I'm too foggy (pain illness) to stop myself from getting stuck in traffic (without the pocket) I realize I shouldn't be out driving and finish the task I'm en route to and go home without pushing it further.
Interesting conversation - thanks for bringing it up!
