In my exxperience it won't work if I try to force it, but if I am just "open" to the gifts, then they appear more. :) I hope that helps you.

I am experiencing this right now. After scipping around in the empath community and reading about some of the others skills, some just started to pop up with me too. Yesterday I had the first lucid dream in my life and was fascinated.:-)

Yes, sometimes I get scared I will shut it down again. Now that I know what it is (most of it) I don't think I could.
I saw colors with people for years and I had no idea that everyone didn't do that...funny, in a way.
For most people, this stuff has been suppressed for years! So it's SOOOO excited to get out...and it's also worried to get shut down again!
Slightly odd rush for the door...LOL :)
Yeah, there is usually a "rush for the door" once you get over the initial hump of coming to term with who you are :) It can be a bit of a wild ride!

Has anyone ever experienced their "gifts" getting stronger and new ones emerging, once you accepted them? I think this is what is happening to me right now.

Thank you!! I think I answered one person. Most of the time I can see peoples colors in my mind in their pictures..but I can always be wrong...I don't want to ever forget that.
You know many people ask for intuitive readings, either here on my other web site (http://EmapthCommunity.ning.com).
That's a nice play to practice without having to worry about being "wrong" since it's all volunteer work and people's expectation...

Yeah, and doesn't it kick you in the face when you do that? LOL! I have to say that since I stop doing readings except when asked by a client, I NEVER get a bad reaction from ppl I read anymore. It's in perfect balance now.

Well thank you for the support - so tell me how do you deal with your intuitiveness. It seems to get me in trouble alot. I know what people are thinking and I often find myself voicing thier opinions
